Egypt and the Quite Tone

The crisis of one situation does not mean a crisis for the society, the crisis of a society does not mean a crisis for the nation and the crisis of a nation does not mean a crisis for the civilization. It is true that life is a long stretched path, in which we face many difficulties. However, we should not stop proceeding in the convoy of progress and modernization. Dr. Zaky Nagib Mahmoud, the great thinker, contemplates and analyzes in his book "This Age and Its Culture" the nature of the Egyptian people throughout different ages saying "the quite tone is the one for the Egyptian in his life. If he encounters life naturally, there will be no obstacles or barriers. The Egyptian is a well- mannered and orderly person in his practical life; he runs like a river in his direction and towards his purpose…. He is a builder of civilizations and maker of cultures due to his quite life tone. However, if he encounters any surprises, he gives it his back and gets rid of it in order to return to his tranquility enabling him to build and manufacture….

The Egyptians are the same as they used to be since the dawn of history; connecting the earth and the sky, life and the after life. They took a speaking symbol of this tie and lifted it on their obelisks, towers, sculptures, minarets of mosques and pillars of churches which stands high referring to the sky, like hands' forefingers that are pointed to heavens testifying that God is the only deity for both worlds. It is Egypt, the country of civilization and tolerant creed springing from its civilized essence.

Egypt is the land of quiver and tolerance will not be defeated by a chaotic destructive act that is so much far away from reason, ethics and religion. It is the opposite of any morals aiming at developing life for the society or humanity, otherwise, it carries viruses of destruction seeking postponing dreams and deforming future visions. Such an act- namely the incidents of Dahab Resort in Sinai- is trying to shake the minaret of peace. However, shall this immoral act shatter future visions and dreams? The answer is: never. Future visions and dreams will keep on shining forever as we live in Egypt the life, Egypt the quite tone, and by our will future visions will always keep on moving forward.

Terrorism has become a universal phenomena, in other words, we have to be alert and aware of what is happening around us in this country. Crises are aroused to defeat Egypt, as it is the heart of the Arab world, and it is the leader of social, economic and political reformation in the area. There might be different points of view; however no one can deny its ambitious spirit of reformation that seeks nothing but construction and modernization. This is in addition to the regional role Egypt plays in the area. These acts are trying to underestimate the role played by the Egyptian; they aim at proving that he is incapable of performing his duty due to instability. Meanwhile, Egypt has been always calling for holding international conferences to face terrorism, intensifying cooperation between countries on the international level and arranging peoples' lines on the national level. Hence, at this stage, we have to perform our duties honestly like a true Egyptian citizens; each in his position: either at school, in the street, in youth centers, the church, the mosque, governmental organizations, indigenous institutions or in universities….. all for achieving a real interaction that aims at building and modernizing Egypt, our dear beloved country.
